Overview

The Olympus OM-System H-Zuiko Auto-W 24mm f/2.8 is a tiny, lightweight lens (180g, 31mm) with excellent build and handling. Optically, it is very sharp stopped down (f/5.6-f/11) with good color and contrast, but wide open it suffers from heavy vignetting, soft corners, and busy bokeh. Flare is a significant issue, especially on the single-coated version, and distortion is moustache-like. It suits photographers who value compactness and stopped-down sharpness for landscape or street photography, but not those who shoot backlit or wide-open frequently.
