The Samyang 500mm f/8 mirror lens is a compact, lightweight super-telephoto with all-metal build and smooth focus ring. Optically, it virtually eliminates chromatic aberration but suffers from low contrast and softness, especially wide open. Its fixed f/8 aperture and manual focus limit use to static, distant subjects; it is not ideal for fast action or critical sharpness. Best suited for budget-conscious photographers needing occasional reach for wildlife or travel, where its low price and portability outweigh optical compromises.
