    Overview

The Mir–38 65mm f/3.5 is a wide-angle lens for Kiev 60/Pentacon 6 cameras, offering a useful alternative to the standard 80mm. Optically, it provides very good image quality with center resolution around 40 lp/mm and corners at 18 lp/mm, though not the greatest. It has minimal distortion and good depth of field. Build is heavy, with an older version using an odd 88mm filter size that requires step-up rings. The lens is more affordable ($50–75) and plentiful than the rare Zeiss Jena 65mm, often including a yellow-green filter. It suits photographers wanting a versatile, budget-friendly wide-normal lens for general use.
