    Overview

    The Cosina MF 100mm f/3.5 Macro is an extremely affordable lens, often called the 'poor man's macro'. Optically, it is sharp stopped down and respectable wide open, but the included close-up adapter softens images. Build is mostly plastic with a metal mount; autofocus is very slow and noisy, and manual focus has high friction. It achieves 1:2 magnification, not true 1:1 without the adapter. Best suited for budget-conscious macro photographers who can work with manual focus and don't need fast AF.
