The Zoomar 50-125 mm f/4 Macro, the first macro zoom for SLRs, is a historical collector's item with exceptional build quality. Optically, it is soft wide open and only decently sharp at f/8 in the center, with little distortion at 50mm but some pincushion at 125mm. It has about 10 aperture blades and is not parfocal, suiting creative or portrait work where softness adds character (kiddo). Best for collectors or those seeking a unique, artistic lens.
