The Leica Summarit-S 35 mm f/2.5 Asph is a compact, lightweight wide-angle lens for the S system, equivalent to 28mm on full-frame. Optically, it delivers very high central sharpness wide open, with a graceful decline to the corners due to field curvature; stopping down to f/5.6 improves edge performance. Distortion is claimed to be practically absent. Build quality is typical Leica, with 82mm filter threads. Its close-focus reproduction ratio of 1:11 limits versatility.
