    Overview

    The Leica Elmarit-R 19mm f/2.8 (II) is a compact ultra-wide lens for Leica R SLRs, designed by Walter Mandler. It offers superb image quality with high contrast and sharpness, though corners are softer. Distortions are negligible for architecture, and it features a built-in filter revolver. The version II improves over version I with better detail and reduced blue fringing. It suits landscape and architecture photographers, but requires vertical alignment for straight lines. Build is compact, and it fits R3 and later bodies.
