Overview

The Tokina AF 28-70mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro is a well-built, all-metal lens that offers good value as a fast standard zoom. Optically, it is slightly soft and lacks contrast at f/2.8, but becomes excellent from f/4 onward. It is best suited for full-frame cameras, as the range is awkward on DX. Build quality is high, but autofocus may not work on entry-level Nikon DSLRs. A bargain used option for those needing an f/2.8 zoom on a budget.
