Overview

The Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm f/2.5 is a solid metal M42 telephoto lens with beautiful rendering and strong contrast, thanks to its multi-coating. It is sharp in the center when stopped to f/4, but corners remain soft and wide-open performance is a bit soft. Bokeh is smooth and flare resistance is good. The lens is hefty with a large focus ring, but lacks an integrated hood. It suits portrait and detail work on mirrorless cameras with an adapter, though alternatives like the Konica Hexar 135mm f/3.5 may be sharper and cheaper.
