The Industar 61 L/D 55mm f/2.8 is a Soviet rangefinder lens derived from the Zeiss Tessar design, featuring lanthanum glass for improved sharpness. It is often considered the sharpest Soviet lens, with good contrast and bokeh even wide open. However, build quality is cheap with lightweight aluminum, inaccurate focusing, and occasional paint flaws. The lens has pronounced aperture clicks and a 180-degree focus throw. It suits budget-conscious shooters seeking sharp optics in M39 or M42 mount, but not those expecting premium build or handling.
