Overview

The SMC Pentax 28mm f/3.5 is a compact, all-metal lens with excellent build quality and smooth handling, though the focus ring direction may be unusual for some. Optically, it delivers good center sharpness at f/3.5, becoming very sharp across the frame by f/8, with exceptional contrast and flare resistance. It holds resolution into extreme corners better than some modern lenses. Weaknesses include a slightly hazy corners at wider apertures and only 5 aperture blades. It suits landscape, cityscape, and deliberate manual-focus work on mirrorless cameras.
