Overview

The Auto-Takumar 35mm f/3.5 is a compact, well-built M42 lens with smooth focusing. Optically, it delivers sharp center performance but noticeable corner vignetting on film, while on digital corners sharpen with minimal vignetting. It offers decent sharpness and a cooler color temperature, suitable for black-and-white photography. The lens is a versatile all-rounder, ideal for travel, street, and documentary work, and works well on modern mirrorless cameras with an adapter. Its robust build can survive drops, but the manual/auto switch is fragile.
