Overview

The Minolta AF 28mm f/2.8 is a compact, lightweight wide-angle lens known for warm colors and pleasant contrast. It is sharp corner-to-corner at f/11, with decent corners at f/8 and softer edges at wider apertures. Chromatic aberration is well controlled, but flare can occur with the sun in frame, and the built-in lens hood is ineffective. It has 7 straight aperture blades and does not produce prominent sun stars. Best suited for street, travel, and casual reportage, especially adapted to Sony digital cameras.
