28mm · f/2
The Minolta AF 28mm f/2 RS is a well-built, all-metal lens with excellent sharpness and contrast, especially on film (Cejes). Its main weakness is flare (Cejes) and, on digital, edge chromatic aberration due to non-telecentric design. Handling on mirrorless requires an adapter; autofocus is lost but aperture control works. It suits users who value build quality and optical performance on film or adapted digital, and who don't mind manual focus.
