35mm · f/2.5
The Canon FL 35mm f/2.5 is a vintage all-metal lens (1964) with smooth manual focus and a breech-lock mount that can be fiddly (Robin Groen). Optically, it is slightly soft wide open but sharpens quickly, with punchy colors and some character (Robin Groen); it is surprisingly sharp even wide open with swirly bokeh and solid corner-to-corner sharpness, excellent depth of field, and great color/contrast (cooltouch). Build quality is solid and reliable. It suits mirrorless users who enjoy vintage character and don't mind full manual operation; it's too bulky for pocket carry (Robin Groen).
