    Overview

    The Sigma MF 14mm f/3.5 is a compact but heavy wide-angle lens (430g, per Olympus OM blog) with internal focus and a plasticky aperture ring (Olympus OM blog). Optically, it delivers very sharp center resolution wide open, improving slightly by f/5.6, but edges remain soft even stopped down (Olympus OM blog). Distortion is minimal with straight lines staying straight, and light falloff is well controlled. The lens cannot use front filters, only rear gel filters (Olympus OM blog). It suits photographers needing extreme wide-angle coverage with good center sharpness and low distortion, but who can accept soft edges and handling quirks.
