135mm · f/4.5
The Leica Hektor 135mm f/4.5 is an affordable vintage lens (1933-1960) with solid all-metal build and smooth controls. Optically, it has no distortion, even illumination, and superb bokeh, but is not very sharp except in the center. Maximum sharpness is at f/5.6-8. Weaknesses include strong flare, lower contrast, and less saturated colors. It is difficult to focus precisely on rangefinders, especially at infinity with adapters. Best suited for portrait photographers seeking soft backgrounds on a budget.
