The Tamron-F 135mm f/2.8 is a well-built manual focus lens with smooth focus and aperture rings. Optically, it is usable wide open but a little soft, with good corner sharpness; stopping down to f/4 improves sharpness and contrast. Bokeh is smooth, making it suitable for portraits, though minor fringing at f/2.8 is easily corrected. Its long focus throw can make focusing challenging in poor light.
