Overview

The Carl Zeiss Distagon 35/3.5 C645 is a super wide-angle lens for Contax 645 medium format, equivalent to ~21mm on 35mm. Optically, it is very sharp with good contrast and low distortion, though corner sharpness may be slightly soft and vignetting minor. Build is robust with metal parts and a metal hood, but it is heavy and uses a 95mm filter size. Autofocus is practical but not as fast as 35mm systems. It suits landscape, architecture, and dramatic perspectives, but close-up tubes are difficult to use.
