Overview

The Tokina 17mm f/3.5 SL-17 is a compact, all-metal manual focus lens with smooth focusing and close focus to 0.25m. Optically, it offers good center sharpness when stopped down, but wide-open contrast is low and corners are soft. Barrel distortion is moderate (~2.5%), and chromatic aberrations are significant at large apertures. Vignetting is heavy at f/3.5 but improves on stopping down.
