50mm · f/1.2
The Minolta MD Rokkor 50mm f/1.2 is a well-built, all-metal legacy lens with smooth focus and aperture rings. Optically, it is soft wide open with a subtle glow, but sharpens by f/2 and becomes very sharp across the frame at f/5.6. Bokeh is pleasing but not as creamy as the 58mm f/1.2. It is relatively small and light for an f/1.2 lens. This lens suits photographers who enjoy manual focus and classic rendering, especially for portraits at f/1.2, but it is challenging to focus wide open.
