Overview

The Vivitar VMC 50/1.4 (Cosina) is a solidly built all-metal lens from the late 1970s, though its fit and finish and focus smoothness are slightly below the Pentax-M 50/1.4 standard (MFlenses). Optically, it is very sharp at all apertures with smooth bokeh, comparable to the Pentax-M, but flares more noticeably (MFlenses). It focuses as close as 0.5m and uses 49mm filters. Best suited for budget-conscious shooters seeking a fast normal lens, especially if found cheaply (MFlenses).
