    Overview

    The Tokina 28-70mm f/2.8-4.3 is a full-frame fast medium zoom, noted for its all-metal build and value as a used bargain. Optical performance is slightly soft and low in contrast at f/2.8, but excellent from f/4 upward; at f/4 it is 'incredible'. It is smaller and lighter than Nikon's f/2.8 zooms, making it carry-friendly. Best suited for full-frame or 35mm cameras; on DX the zoom range is awkward. It lacks autofocus with entry-level Nikon DSLRs.
