Overview

The Makinon MC 28mm f/2.8 (I) is a solidly built metal lens with a comfortable feel and compact size, fitting easily into a pocket. Optically, it exhibits strong vignetting even when stopped down, softness wide open, and corner softness, making it unremarkable overall. However, stopping down to f/8 and using zone focusing can yield better results. It suits avid vintage lens enthusiasts, especially M42 mount collectors, but is not recommended for beginners due to its optical shortcomings.
