Overview

The Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 35mm f/2.0 is a fast, sharp vintage lens, especially impressive wide open. It offers good sharpness where it counts, though edge-to-edge perfection is not expected. Build is solid with a smooth focus ring, but the 67mm filter version is notably chunky and heavy. It suits crop sensor cameras as a 50mm equivalent and is reasonably priced for a fast 35mm. Weaknesses include tricky focus at f/2 on SLRs and potential radioactive elements in some copies.
