    Overview

The Nikon Nikkor-UD 20mm f/3.5 non-Ai is Nikon's first 20mm lens (1967-1974), offering excellent optical performance with good overall sharpness, though corners are slightly soft below f/5.6. It suffers from heavy ghosting in direct sunlight due to primitive coatings. Build is all-metal and glass, heavy at 388g, with a smooth focus ring. It requires AI conversion for modern DSLR compatibility; otherwise, it works only on pre-1977 cameras. Best suited for manual-focus enthusiasts on film or AI-compatible digital bodies, but not recommended for action or DX cameras.
