    Overview

    The Tamron SP 60-300mm f/3.8-5.4 Adaptall-2 (23A) is a versatile 5:1 zoom with macro at 60mm (1:1.55). Optically, it performs well in good light, even wide open at 300mm, but suffers purple fringing in tough conditions. Macro is strong centrally but mediocre in corners. Build is excellent, matching other SP zooms. A notable weakness is the 1.9m minimum focus at shorter focal lengths outside macro. It suits full-frame users wanting a standard-to-telephoto zoom, and is widely available used for £30-50.
