The Tamron 70-350 mm f/4.5 Adaptall-2 model 05A is a constant-aperture telephoto zoom for 35mm SLRs. Optically, central sharpness is excellent, with low distortion and even illumination, but edge definition at f/4.5 is fair and it is slightly soft at the longest focal length, though better than most. Build quality is very high, but the lens is large and heavy, requiring tripod mounting for hand-held use. It suits daytime aviation, sports, nature, and surveillance work.
