Overview

The SMC Pentax-M 100mm f/4 Macro is a well-built manual lens with metal construction and engraved markings. Its optical performance is very sharp edge-to-edge, even wide-open, with beautiful bokeh and no visible distortion. However, it loses contrast against bright light and has a hexagonal aperture that can be distracting when stopped down. The focus ring has a long throw for macro but is stiff. It suits photographers wanting a compact, versatile telephoto and macro lens.
