The 7artisans 35mm F2 is a compact, all-metal lens offering good central sharpness from f/4, pleasant color and contrast, and smooth bokeh with occasional soap-bubble character. However, it suffers from soft corners and edges, heavy vignetting wide open, and some build quality issues like imprecise aperture clicks and a loose hood. Handling is generally good with a smooth focus ring and half-stop clicks on the II version, but some samples have infinity focus problems on certain digital bodies. It suits photographers seeking an affordable, character-rich lens for artistic work, especially on APS-C, but may disappoint pixel peepers.
